What Is Deionized Water Window Cleaning?
Deionized water window cleaning uses purified water with its dissolved minerals removed. Because nothing is left in the water to dry on the glass, windows dry clear without spots or streaks. Cleaners usually apply it with a brush on a water-fed pole, which also reaches second-story glass from the ground.

How does deionized water clean windows?
Tap and well water carry dissolved minerals like calcium and magnesium. When that water dries on glass, the minerals stay behind as white spots. Deionized water has been run through resin that pulls those minerals out. With nothing left to deposit, the water dries clear.
Is deionized water the same as soft water?
No. A water softener swaps hard minerals for sodium, so softened water still leaves residue when it dries. Deionization removes the dissolved minerals altogether, which is why it’s the method used for spot-free window and solar panel cleaning.
What is a water-fed pole?
A water-fed pole is a long, lightweight pole with a soft brush on the end and a hose running up to it. The crew scrubs the glass and frame with the brush, then rinses with deionized water and lets it air-dry. It lets High Tide Window Cleaning clean second-story windows safely from the ground, without leaning a ladder on your house.
Why do windows stay cleaner after a deionized rinse?
A squeegee job with tap water or soap can leave a thin residue that attracts dust and shows water spots after the next sprinkler or rain. Glass rinsed with deionized water has no residue, so it stays clearer longer. High Tide Window Cleaning uses deionized water on every window and solar job, at $7 per pane outside and $13 inside and out.
